Dog physio assessment

If your dog or cat has arthritis, has had or may need orthopaedic surgery, has a lameness, muscle injury, is getting older, stiffer and less mobile, has a sports or athletic injury they may benefit from physiotherapy.

Vetphysio Limited has a dedicated small animal physiotherapy clinic situated at The Strand Veterinarian, in the beautiful and historic Textile Centre. Located in central Auckland at 1 Kenwyn Street, Parnell.  In 2016 Vetphysio also founded a dedicated pre and post-operative clinic at New Zealand’s leading private veterinary hospitals, Veterinary Specialists Aotearoa, 1 Te Apunga Place, Sylvia Park with inpatient and outpatient physiotherapy services and hydrotherapy. Since then the VSA Physio service has grown and inpatient and outpatient physiotherapy services are also provided at the Mount Albert hospital. Vetphysio also is able to provide physiotherapy services at a selected few veterinary practices in the Auckland area by special arrangement. Our patients include working dogs, police dogs, agility dogs, racing greyhounds, family pets, post-operative dogs, and our grey paws (older) dogs and cats.

The canine or feline physiotherapy assessment involves taking a detailed history from both the owner and your veterinarian, a movement assessment, full palpatory assessment from nose to tail and specific tests such as neurological tests, functional tests, joint tests and range of motion.

If your dog or cat has arthritis, has had or may need orthopaedic or neurological surgery, has a lameness, muscle injury, is getting older, stiffer and less mobile, has a sports or athletic injury then they may benefit from physiotherapy. We also provide each of our owners with a personalised exercise and home programme for their dog, and provide helpful and specific advice to assist with managing your animal at home.
